A head shot is a photographic technique where the focus of the photograph is a person’s face. Techniques (; 1.) Focus on the eyes! Makes for stronger connection, eyes are the soul 2.) Watch your angles! Go down for women and slightly up for men, down equals delicacy, up equals strength 3.) Use diffused lighting! Gently wrap the light around the skin to bring definition 4.) Add a hair highlight! Place above or behind the subject to add depth, pull top of the head out of the background 5.) Use of lens! Avoid mid to wide angle lenses, try to stick to 90mm and above 6.) Guide expression! Make conversation by asking questions or making compliments to get genuine faces
